The NDP have declared that they will do everything in their party’s power to stop or at least slow down the progress of the HST. BC NDP leader Carole James has made stops across the province holding community forums to help garner support for their tax opposition. “We’ll take every opportunity we have,” say James, referring to her party’s recent actions to stall the passage of the bill. On Friday afternoon,  January 29th, the NO BC HST mysteriously vanished from the internet only to reappear Sunday evening. At this point it is impossible to say what happened to the group, but what happened while it was MIA is worth noting.
When the news broke that the site was gone people across the internet, from the blogosphere to individual Facebook members, joined together to spread the word, voice their concern and even recreate the group.

Is the ‘NO BC HST’ Facebook Group Gone?

In a strange turn of events the Facebook group dubbed “NO BC HST” has vanished from the internet. The group, which was recently featured on HSTinCanada.com, has over 130,000 members from across British Columbia who have joined in opposition to the harmonized sales tax.
The ‘NO BC HST’ was reportedly taken down at 11:29:47 GMT Friday, January 29th. The groups creator, Bill Tieleman, has contacted Facebook with inquiries as to why the page was removed. As of yet no reasons have been given. Facebook has been known to shut down groups …
